HP/WV is at .500 4 games in

High Point/Wallkill Valley hockey has a .500 record 4 games into the 2012/2013 season.  The season opened with a 4-3 comeback victory over Governor Livingston on Friday Nov. 30.  Andrew Reeves was given a rare 2nd chance to win the game late in the 3rd period and converted for the victory.

The 2nd game and first road trip of the season on Monday Dec 3rd proved to be disappointing against division rival Hudson Catholic.  The Wildcats would fall in that game 3-1 for a long bus trip back from Jersey City.

That next Wednesday Dec. 5th would once again be a disappointing road game and a loss to Gill St. Bernards Academy 5-2.  The only highlight of the game was the opposing coach was 3 time Stanley Cup champion former New Jersey Devil Scott Stevens, Coach Dearolf was not pleased.

Saturday Dec 8th proved to be a comeback for the Wildcats who were facing a longtime rival in Vernon HS.  The fans were almost as nasty as the players on the ice.  The back and forth game went into the 3rd period tied at 4-4, but ended in  victory for the Wildcats with a 7-4 final.

This Friday the Wildcats take on another long time rival in Newton-Lenape.  This is another divisional game and the Wildcats cans use all the fan support they can get.  So come to Skylands Ice World for a 5:50 puck drop.

If you would like to join the newly formed Red Army Supporters group for the hockey team find Brad Seo or Jason Welch at High Point or Josh Rogoff at Wallkill Valley and ask them how to get involved.
